THE RESEARCH CENTER

The headquarters of our Lab are housed in a distinctive facility defined by its innovative design and low environmental impact, originally conceived in the 1980s by the renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano. The building was designed for advanced research on light metals by the Donegani Institute, a historic center of excellence in chemical science.

Today, the site is part of a dynamic technology park that brings together leading research institutions, including the University of Eastern Piedmont, alongside highly specialized, innovation-driven companies.

Lightweight, elegant, and environmentally conscious, the architectural vision of the facility reflects the core values of Ticinum Lab Pharma Research Center, particularly its strong commitment to sustainable chemistry.

In 2026, Ticinum Lab proudly celebrates the 25th anniversary of its foundation, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing journey of scientific excellence, innovation, and partnership within the pharma and biopharma sectors.

SUSTAINABILITY

Environmental

As a company located within a Scientific Park, we benefit from synergies in energy resource management. More than 50% of the energy we utilize is derived from renewable sources.

We apply green analytical chemistry principles by using lower-impact solvents whenever official methods allow flexibility. We are also committed to reducing single-use plastics, recycling paper and plastic packaging where possible, ensuring separate waste collection, and properly managing process effluents.

In addition, we are working toward a paperless document management system within the next 5 years.

Social

Our workforce is composed of 62% women, while 20% of the Board of Directors are female. Employees range in age from 20 to 63, and compensation is based exclusively on responsibility and merit, regardless of gender or age. Continuous training is a core value, with approximately 2,500 hours delivered in 2025 alone.

Health and safety are ensured through regularly updated risk assessment procedures, ongoing medical surveillance, and annual training programs. No major accidents have occurred since the company was founded in 2000.

Our corporate welfare program provides employees with private healthcare support, childcare and elderly care assistance, educational support for family members, and benefits related to wellbeing and leisure.

We ensure maximum transparency with customers in supporting sustainability policies and require suppliers to adhere to fundamental sustainability principles. We also collaborate with high schools, universities, and the Fondazione Novara Sviluppo on educational and scientific outreach projects, while supporting both local and international charitable organizations.

Governance

Ticinum Lab contributes to drug safety by adhering to the highest quality standards. The company is authorized as a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and operates in full compliance with current GMP regulations, with quality certifications extending to preclinical activities through GLP and GCP standards.

A corporate code of conduct is in place to ensure compliance with fundamental ethical principles. Procedures have also been implemented to ensure GDPR compliance, whistleblowing protection, and cybersecurity. Confidentiality agreements are signed with all clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

The Chairman and Board members do not receive remuneration for their roles, and company profits are reinvested into the business.
